Seminar – Waiting for Justice at Ontario’s Adjudicative Tribunals
October 26 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
FreeFree lunch seminar with Professor Noel Semple, hosted by CFUW and Windsor Law
Where (in-person event): Windsor Law Building, University Ave. West, at the corner with Sunset, Room 0140
This seminar will also be broadcast online via ZOOM.
Adjudicative tribunals are responsible for resolving tens of thousands of disputes facing Ontarians every year. From evictions and rent payment, to human rights challenges, adjudicative tribunals are the front line of civil justice in our province.
And yet Ontario’s highest-volume adjudicative tribunals have struggled badly in recent years. Matters that used to be resolved in weeks are now taking months or years to be heard.
Join Prof. Noel Semple of the University of Windsor Faculty of Law to learn why Ontario’s tribunals have gone off the rails, and what can be done to get them back on track.
