It was on March 8th, 1937, that a group of women, all university graduates, met at the Y.W.C.A. in Peterborough to organize a University Women’s Club.  The formation of such a group had been mentioned at times by interested women, but it was not until early in 1937 that casual references became discussions and crystallized into a plan.

Our vision is of a strong national organization working to ensure that all girls and women have equal opportunities and equal access to quality education within a peaceful and secure environment where their human rights are respected. Our vision includes a world where poverty is reduced, discrimination eliminated, where there are equal opportunities for leadership, employment, income, education, careers and the ability to maximize potential.

CFUW Peterborough will be celebrating their 85th anniversary with a dinner at Berc’s Steakhouse in Peterborough.  Congratulations ladies of CFUW Peterborough!
