CFUW Orangeville & District Persons Day Event

October 20, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

You are invited to attend CFUW Orangeville & District’s October Persons Day Event taking place via ZOOM on Wednesday October 20 at 7 p.m.

Persons Day marks the occasion in 1929 when the historic decision to include women in the definition of ‘persons’ was handed down by Canada’s highest court of appeal.

The Persons Day celebration is an annual event for our Club.  This year our keynote speaker is Senator Karen Sorensen,  who is a former resident of Orangeville, and is an accomplished community leader with experience working with all orders of government and the private sector.

From the Orangeville Dairy Queen to the Senate of Canada…

Listen to Sen. Karen’s inspirational journey – and learn about the Senate’s role in reviewing legislation that results from our decisions at the ballot box.

This event is free but you must register in advance.
