CFUW Georgetown – The Orange Shirt Story

March 1, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

CFUW Georgetown in partnership with the Halton Hills Public Library invite you to join us for an evening with Phyllis Webstad and her orange shirt story.  Every year on September 30th, we wear orange shirts to honour residential school survivors.  Orange Shirt Day grew out of Phyllis Webstad’s story of having her shiny new orange shirt taken away on her first day of school at residential school, told for the first time in May, 2013.  Phyllis is the Ambassador and Founder of the Orange Shirt Society and tours the country telling her story and raising awareness about the impacts of the residential school system. For this lecture, Phyllis Webstad joins us to discuss the origins of the Orange Shirt Story. Please contact enquiries@cfuw-georgetown.ca to obtain the link.
