The first virtual Ontario Council Annual General Meeting was held on May 23rd, 2020 but not all agenda items could be dealt with in the scheduled meeting times, and were deferred until August 15th, when a 2nd special virtual meeting will be scheduled. Clubs unable to have a voting delegate at the August 15th Special General Meeting (SGM) shall be entitled to vote by proxy by completing a Proxy Form – Club Delegate. Proxy forms must be submitted by e-mail to email@example.com on or before August 13, 2020.
The Ontario Council Nominations Committee is pleased to have received a number of nomination and application forms for Director positions on the Ontario Council Board. Elections will take place at the SGM on August 15th. All Board Director positions are open for election. The eligibility requirements for Director positions are outlined in our Bylaws, clause 2.05.
The following candidates provided their nomination package during the published nominations period and will be standing for election at the SGM.

Human Rights and Status of Women Committee Chair: Sandra Shaw (CFUW Perth)
There were no nomination packages received for the following positions during the nominations period: Education Committee Chair*, RD Ontario South, RD Ontario Central*, Secretary*, Treasurer* and President**.
*However, since the close of the nominations period, there are Members who have expressed interest in standing for these positions.
**The nominee for President must have served at least one (1) term on the Ontario Council Board or in a leadership position with CFUW Ontario Council.
Nominations for director positions are allowed “from the floor” at the virtual SGM as per the Ontario Corporations Act. In order to be efficient with our SGM business meeting proceedings, you are requested to submit the nomination and application forms to the Nominations Committee prior to August 15th. Proposed candidates must meet the eligibility criteria as per Bylaws clause 2.05 and be registered and in attendance at the virtual SGM.
Should there be no candidates nominated for a position, the incumbent will continue in that position until they resign or until their successors are elected or appointed as per Bylaws clause 2.06.
